Activated carbon filter

We use activated carbon filters to remove odours from exhaust air and to purify biogas. There they remove pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), siloxanes and mercaptans. In biogas purification, the activated carbon filter can be installed downstream of a biological desulphurization stage as fine purification.

Pollutants are eliminated from product and exhaust air streams by adsorption onto suitable carrier materials (activated carbon). Specific activated carbon types are selected to match particular pollutants.
