Biogas leaves the digester warm and saturated with water vapour. As it cools on its
way to the consumer, that water condenses in pipes, valves and equipment. Drying removes
the moisture from the gas before it can cause damage there.
Cooling – the biogas is cooled below its dew point so that the
water vapour condenses out.
Liquid separation – the condensate is separated and discharged
from the gas path.
Reheating – the dried gas is warmed again and thus moved away from
its dew point, so no further condensate forms in the downstream pipework.
The plants are designed for the gas volume flow and the conditions on site and can be
combined with biogas desulphurization – including
as a retrofit to an existing plant.
